What is tasbih?
Tasbih (also written as tasbeeh) is the Islamic practice of glorifying Allah. It is a form of zikr (remembrance) where Muslims repeat beautiful words of praise.
Doing this brings peace to the heart and keeps a person connected to their Creator throughout the day. It reminds us of Allah's perfection and endless mercy.
The blessings of doing tasbeeh after namaz
After completing the daily prayers (namaz), it is a very rewarding Sunnah to sit quietly and remember Allah. Doing your tasbeeh after namaz helps wipe away minor sins and brings great spiritual rewards.
It is a special time to thank Allah for your life, praise His greatness, and ask for His continuous guidance.
Which dhikr should I read daily?
The most highly rewarded dhikr is saying "La ilaha illallah" (There is no true god except Allah). Other very common and easy words of praise include:
- SubhanAllah: To declare that Allah is perfect and above all flaws.
- Alhamdulillah: To deeply thank Allah for all His blessings.
- Allahu Akbar: To declare that Allah is greater than anything in this world.
- Astaghfirullah: To seek Allah's forgiveness for your daily mistakes.
